Nordik Predator Pre-tuned is a predator mouth call specifically developed to meet the demands of calling predators under Nordic conditions. The mouthpiece is freeze proof and the call is pre-tuned for four basic sounds, allowing you to imitate everything from subtle rodent squeaks to powerful rabbit distress screams – all with very long range.

The call is simple to use, yet extremely versatile. By placing the O-ring, your teeth or lips at different notches on the mouthpiece, you can quickly switch between mouse/vole squeaks and distress calls from rabbit and hare. Combined with good hand control in front of the sound outlet, Nordik Predator Pre-tuned produces very realistic and emotional sounds that predators find hard to resist.

Designed for foxes, jackals and other predators that hunt small game and farmland areas, this call works equally well in open fields, pastures and forest edges. The sound carries a long distance, making it ideal for covering large areas from a single stand.

Four basic sound types – how the call works

1. Rodent squeaks (mouse and vole)
To imitate mouse and vole squeaks, place the O-ring, your teeth or your lips at the outermost notch on the mouthpiece and blow short bursts into the call. This produces high-pitched squeaks that predators associate with an easy, small prey in distress.

2. Distress calls from rabbit and hare
These calls are easy to make by placing the O-ring, your teeth or lips at one of the two middle notches on the mouthpiece:

• Front middle notch – slightly higher, finer distress sound (similar to a small rabbit).
• Rear middle notch – coarser, deeper sound (adult rabbit or hare in strong distress).

Vary long and short sounds for about 15–25 seconds, then stay silent for 3–4 minutes before calling again. Open and close your hand in front of the call’s opening while you blow to create a more lifelike and „moving“ sound.

For an even more painful and desperate tone, you can add a rough „grrr“-like sound from your throat as you blow. Experiment with where you place your lips on the membrane and with different breath lengths to imitate several „individual“ animals in distress.

Combining with decoys and stand setup

For even higher success, combine Nordik Predator Pre-tuned with a moving decoy that imitates an agonising rabbit. Place the decoy about 30–40 metres away from your position and slightly off to the side, so approaching predators focus on the decoy rather than on you. Expect predators to circle and approach from downwind, so choose your stand with wind direction and shooting lanes in mind.
